What does nation-building really look like at the grassroots? It begins at 4 a.m. in a remote village, with a woman who finishes her prayers, packs her husband’s tiffin, sends her children to school and then builds an enterprise that sustains an entire community. In this powerful talk, the speaker shares real-life stories of India’s everyday “she-roes” women like Annapurna from the Sundarbans, Madhu Ma from Jhargram, Konika from Assam, and Ayesha from Meghalaya who turned traditional skills and local resources into thriving, scalable businesses. From homemade pickles and sun-dried foods to eco-friendly sal-leaf plates, vermicompost brands, and Ahimsa silk startups, these women prove that entrepreneurship does not need fancy offices only intent, dignity, and the right support. The talk highlights how small interventions better design, market access, branding, and belief can transform informal work into sustainable livelihoods, generate employment, and accelerate India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat. A moving reminder that the hand that rocks the cradle doesn’t just nurture families it transforms communities and builds nations.
