Welcome to a new video at the famous Franconian wine region. For a review of another town at lower Franconia I thought Volkach is the best. A town loceated at the river Main and like Iphofen at the district of the bigger town Wurzburg. Find out more in my video. The tour through Volkach: I went by car in the district of Wurzburg to the small town Volkach. I knew this town from another trip last year at the same region not far away of Volkach at the Benedictine Abbey Schwarzach. I parked my car in front of the city center and explored step by step all interesting places from the first tower of the city wall to the last tower of the old town. The marking place, the church was more as impressive for me as well. According to the day the small city center were emptier as with people. At the library I found an interesting entrance structured with ornamentic and over the second door was a face out of stone. According to the tradition of the Franconian wine I taste a lunch at a winery and took for the drink a typical wine for the meal. At next I went by foot to the meadow at the Main. I had the opportunity to see a logistic ship for river which cross the river during my time there. The entire trip was at first a come back after one year to the region and at second the first part to see a town which has more to see in summertime. About Volkach: Volkach is a small town loceated at the district lower Franconia at the federal state Bavaria at Germany. The town is like Wurzburg, Kitzingen and Iphofen part of the Franconian wine region. According to the administration of lower Franconia Volkach has a population of 8843 people. The old town has a marking place a main passage which can used by cars, bikers as well and is popular for its many restaurants, wineries, and shops. The church is a catholic church and has the name Saint Bartholomeus. A popular tourist attraction is a historic train which departs only in summertime to some places at the wine region. At the river main the tourists can go by a ship to other places and towns at lower Franconia like to Wurzburg, Schweinfurt, and Karlstadt at the Main. A famous place next to Volkach is the Benedictine Abbey Schwarzach. A wine hiking tour, a trip by the historic train or a tour by ship at the Main is a beautiful experience. A wine tasting as well. About the Franconian wine region and the wine: The Franconian wine produced in the region between the towns Wurzburg, Kitzingen and the river Main at the north part of the federal state Bavaria in Germany one of the most famous kinds of wine at the entire country. The history of the wine begun in the year around 1200 in the middle age. Today it happened a lot of farmers and landowners in the region which produce the wine in own wineries for generations. On the countryside the wine berries are growing at large square meter areas mostly at a hill or behind the towns. The bottle of the Franconian wine is special look like and is called “Bocksbeutel”. An interesting experience is to taste a wine completed with a Franconian food.
