However this is a double suction port. Even still there could be an entrapment issue if one of the suction side hoses collapse. There for I recommend talking to your pool professional before making modifications to your pool. There are 2 things that need to be done here. #1 I need a smaller pump. A 1/2hp would be better. #2 I need to add a skimmer in addition to the suction ports. To not only insure against entrapment but also to help clean the pool. Be safe out there.
