The Parish of São Facundo was extinguished and merged with the Parish of Vale das Mós, forming a new parish called União das Freguesias de São Facundo e Vale das Mós. Until the 16th century, São Facundo was called Zonalheira. At that time, a saint was found and placed in the main church, to whom the name São Fagundo was attributed. Zonalheira then came to be called São Fagundo and, later, São Facundo. Location: São Facundo is located on the southeastern border of the municipality of Abrantes. It is bordered by the Municipality of Ponte de Sor to the southeast, the towns of Pego and Concavada to the north, Alvega to the northeast, Vale das Mós to the south, Bemposta to the west, and São Miguel do Rio Torto to the northwest. A Zonalheira passou então a chamar-se São Fagundo e, mais tarde, São Facundo. Localização: São Facundo situa-se no limite sudeste do concelho de Abrantes. Faz fronteira com o concelho de Ponte de Sor a sudeste, com as vilas de Pego e Concavada a norte, com Alvega a nordeste, com Vale das Mós a sul, com Bemposta a oeste e com São Miguel do Rio Torto a noroeste.
