Dear friends 18 years ago, I was working for an advertising agency that handles publicity for Tourism Malaysia. I was fortunate to be involved in churning an advertisement for Sungai Klah Hot Spring Park. Of course, we had to get to this destination and take pictures amongst other things. Somehow when I was there, I didn’t notice that Sungkai was indeed known for their food, especially their salted chicken. Also, in the last ten years I discovered a shortcut from Sungkai to Teluk Intan which saves me at least 10 KM since it bypassed Bidor. Sadly, I never made a detour into their town for food. Thanks to a casual Ipoh friend who told me that he would stop by in Sungkai for their salted chicken each time he drives from KL to Ipoh. If not for him I wouldn’t have come to feature their food.
