Today we’re talking about destroying back pain! Ain’t nobody got time for that. This ONE tip could be the one thing that eliminates back pain from YOUR playing. I hope this simple tip helps you out with your kit setup! It’s super important to make sure we’re sitting up straight at the kit. In the video I test out 3 different “kit setups,” each with slightly different positioning of the kick drum versus the other drums and cymbals. I compare the difference between being cramped up at the kit, as well as the opposite problem - having to reach too far to hit the rack tom or cymbals. Whether or not an awkward setup causes us to have to “lean in” more, most likely having to reach far will cause some sort of strain on your back. This can be dangerous when you’re playing a 3 hour gig, when adrenaline can prevent you from noticing back fatigue. I realized this was a big reason why I’d get home from a long gig and suddenly realize my back hurt. If this video helped you out, I hope you’ll become a fellow Non Glamorous Drummer and subscribe to the channel. New videos every Friday! Thanks guys, and have a great weekend.
