Temporarily residing in Malaysia in the Summer of 2020, I came into contact with a professional Malay chef called Samuel. Living in Penang, he had several businesses including a cooking school, and needed help creating cooking content. We did a collab for a month making content for his YouTube channel. In each video, he was creating a typical Malay-Chinese dish by means of traditional cooking equipment. We filmed all footage on an authentic & traditional Malay farm surrounded by beautiful jungle. It was such an awesome experience for me and looking back I really miss that place. In that month I learned the basics of videography and I was so proud of myself, being able to create such videos. I knew from that moment onwards that I wanted to become a videographer. In this never-released video, he's making Tao Yu Bak, braised pork. I was so lucky to taste this dish afterward and I can tell you it was really, really, really delicious! This video was our last collaboration and I'm so proud of it, that I decided (with approval of Chef Samuel!), to add this video to my showreel.
