INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4:38 PM 1-12-26 LOCATION: Corwin and Waalew Roads AREA/CITY: Apple Valley DETAILS: ******PRESS RELEASE ADDED HERE****** Advisory: Driver Dies Following Two-Vehicle Collision in Apple Valley DATE/TIME: January 12, 2026, at about 4:36 PM INCIDENT: Fatal Collision LOCATION: Corwin Road and Waalew Road, Apple Valley DRIVER(1): Keith Morris, 27-year-old, Resident of Apple Valley (Deceased) PASSENGER(1): 15-year-old, Female, Resident of Apple Valley VEHICLE(1): Green, 2016 Honda Civic DRIVER(2): 23-year-old, Male, Resident of Apple Valley VEHICLE(2): Tan, 2005 Chevy Silverado SUMMARY: On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 4:36 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protections District, and American Medical Response, responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in the Town of Apple Valley at the intersection of Corwin Road and Waalew Rd. Keith Morris drove a green 2016 Honda Civic west on Waalew Road. A tan Chevy Silverado drove north on Corwin Road. The Honda turned south on Corwin Road from the stop sign, and into the Chevy’s Lane of travel. The vehicles collided in the intersection. Morris and his 15-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital for a higher level of care. Morris succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the collision. The driver of the Chevy (Vehicle 2), remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and assumed the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information or anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputy D.
