Backpacking to Kinsman Pond in the White Mountains

Ezri and I hiked up to Kinsman Pond via Basin Cascade Trail and Kinsman Pond Trail. Starting at the Basin, we were treated to fantastic cascades for the first mile. Things got quieter and slicker after that - the Kinsman Pond Trail proved to be challenging. Once we made camp at Kinsman Pond, we ventured up over the Kinsmans and then back to camp. We have recently become obsessed with the Tour de France as evident by a certain mantra in this video. Thunderstorms came through at night and it was a wet foggy morning. But not cold at least. We opted to go down Fishin' Jimmy but it was a still a slow, careful process. A short stop at the Lonesome Lake Hut and then we made our way back to the Basin Cascade Trail and down to the car. Carrying so much gear wore me out - definitely a wake-up call after my last light 'n fast trip. A good overnight in hot, humid conditions and it brought Ezri's 4k total to 19.
