During a stay in Cádiz in Andalucía, we visited Jerez de la Frontera for a weekend (specifically for the Flamenco festival) and also did a day trip across Cádiz Bay to El Puerto de Santa Maria. This video chronicles these visits. Please be aware that if you don't like impassioned wailing, stamping and clapping, you can omit the chapter capturing the Flamenco performances we saw! We were utterly captivated, but I appreciate it is not everyone's cup of tea. And as for the sherry - well - forget bottles of Harvey’s Bristol Cream. Sherry is a way of life in this part of Spain, drunk by all ages to accompany tapas or just as a drink, and we took every opportunity to sample many different types. Delicious. I have tried an experiment of AI-generated text-to-speech voiceovers. Her Spanish pronunciation is appalling, and apologies for that - but hopefully you get the gist! The only way I could get her to say "Jerez" anywhere near accurately was to type "Heh-reth"..... And please be aware that the GoPro I use does not handle low light very well (even using the low light setting) and so the sequences inside the Arab Baths and Mesquita are not as crisp as they should be. Enjoy a visit to Jerez and to El Puerto de Santa Maria!
