Arcade Games of the 80s: 1988!

A look at the arcade games that were released in 1988! A great year for arcade fans! We saw the arrival of classics such as Ghouls'n'Ghosts, Splatterhouse and Robocop. Taito was at their peak, releasing 23 titles this year - including Truxton(Tatsujin), Operation Thunderbolt and one of my personal favorite arcade games - Chase HQ. Konami and Capcom were coming along nicely (giving us, amongst other titles, another Gradius entry and Ghouls'n'Ghosts). Sega, of course being Sega was still delivering powerhouse experiences with titles like Power Drift and Galaxy Force 2 taking up your coins - as well as massive floor space in the arcades. And a special shout-out to Narc for bringing arcade violence to a whole new level with Narc. Good clean family entertainment! How many of these did you play?
