TREE FELLING - We had to take down this Tree!

In this video, we took on perhaps our scariest project yet. We needed to take down a rotten tree that was threatening the stables and the Natural pool we are building. The quote we had was for €3,000 which we couldn't afford and so after a lot of research and some smaller test projects, we finally took on this beast of a tree and became lumberjacks for the day. Chris, fully over his fear of heights, climbed the tree to attach a guide rope. Then Jolyon cut the tree down. This was always going to be a risky project, so tune in to find out whether they were successful or if the tree fell in the wrong direction, damaging the surrounding buildings. A bit about us - We are Chris (the tall one) and Jolyon (the less tall one). We met working at the Foreign Office, and got married in another Château south of Paris in 2018. We have both always separately had a dream of living in a Château, so it was a match made in heaven. We also have our gorgeous St Bernard, Bo, - she loves Château Trois Cloches, and can regularly be seen working in the garden, digging, or moving branches for us. The end goal is to have a beautiful venue available for big groups to hire, or the perfect location for a wedding! We try to capture as much of the renovations as possible for Youtube, so do follow along to see the transformation. We are big believers in bold o design, which fits with the Chateau's Belle Époque era.
