Another week, another finished project, this time it's the six stoneware bowls I trimmed and inserted bronze into. In the past this is something I've done far more irregularly—the bronze fragments simply wedged into my clay body and thrown with on the potter's wheel. I like the results, yet I feel as if I can be more intentional with the placement of these flecks of metal, thus introducing a new element of design into my making process. This video covers that exploration, with a whole range of results at the end. I'd love to hear what you think and whether you not you prefer these red flecks being spontaneous or intentional. Thanks for watching! Thanks for sending me the metals, Alex!
