My experience is that the car slowly dies down and stalled while in a heavy traffic after drivng 8 miles, tried to crank it several times but no luck starting the car. Had the car cooled down and the car started like no issue at all. From Boxster owners group, a lot had experienced this and replacing the CPS solved the problem. The CPS dictates the fuel pump to release gas to the system. If this fails, the car wont start since no fuel will flow in the system as I was advised.
