Hello and Welcome to another 'Trains at' video. Today I decided to go to Darlington to see the unveiling of an LNER Azuma be named 'Darlington' to celebrate 200 years of passenger operations on British Railways. The first passenger service was operated between Darlington and Stockton on The Stockton and Darlington Railway on the 27th September 1825. The steam locomotive used for this special occasion back in 1825 was Locomotion No. 1 built by George Stephenson. LNER Azuma 801207 was the unit given the special tag. This was also filmed on my birthday and spent an extra 3 hours longer there than planned due to a train braking down whilst I was in Darlington. Didn't affect me much as meant I could go and get some food and explore a bit of Darlington outside the station and also get some more footage for this video as this video was probably only going to be around 5-10 minutes long if I wasn't going to be stranded in Darlington for an extra 3 hours.
