JUDGES: WCRfan126 (Megara) WolfSpirit79 (John Smith) xDivineMemoriesx (Melody) STORY: In Salem, Massachusetts 1692-1693, many women and men were hung for the supposed crime of witchcraft. As of today, these accusations have been disproven and are falsehood. But what if they weren’t? At the age of 13, it is said that those of magic blood will unlock their powers and harbor voodoo and witchcraft abilities. For many years, they’ve been hiding away and keeping to themselves, but when a young woman named Megara accidentally sets a mill on fire, all the witches are now exposed. Even worse, the townsfolk now knows who’s a witch as they all suddenly have a glowing aura, and none of our fellow witches know why this is happening to them. The town’s mayor, John Smith, demands that every witch be arrested and burned to the stake. The mob goes on a rampage, dragging every witch out of their homes and arresting them, killing them, burning them, all the likes. Feeling guilty for the harm she’s caused, Meg goes to all of the witchcraft users that she can find and helps them escape. Of course, not all of her chosen subjects were successful in escaping. AUDITON: For your audition, you must show your character’s personality and backstory. Your character is one of these witches, so you must also show their relationship with that (do they like it? are they afraid of it? do they wish to be more powerful?). Your audition will have your character notice or at least hear about how the mill was sent on fire, and have them glowing for reasons they can’t understand. Followed up by them being dragged out of their home and accused of witchcraft. At the end, Meg will try to help your character escape from the mob. So as a rundown, you must show: -Your character and their personality/backstory (or at least hint at one) -Their relationship with witchcraft and in having these powers -Your character hearing about or seeing the mill get set on fire -Them get dragged out of their homes and accused of witchcraft, due to them having a glowing aura -Meg trying to help them escape RULES: -This is a RolePlay through a video format, so your audition (plus your rounds if you get in) must be a crossover edited video. -2D Animation only -Your character must be between the ages of 13-21. (Remember, those charged of witchcraft did not live very long, so it’s reasonable to assume that they would not make it to their later years). -Your character can be female or male -Only Non/Disney characters allowed (but backgrounds/props from other sources are acceptable!) -Your character must be human -The characters seen dying in this video, such as Esmerelda, are still up for auditioning! -You’re allowed to borrow some masks, but remember that the majority should be your own! -You will have two weeks to complete your audition video. If you do not have your video up by your deadline, then your character will be up for grabs once more. You can re-enter if you so desire, but you cannot claim the same character. -All entries must be submitted here in the comment section ABOUT THE CONTEST: There will be 11 chosen contestants and 5 rounds. Two people will be eliminated each round, so in the story universe your character will die. This means that at the end, three people will be left. You will have a month to edit each round (possibly more since i allow extensions). Your round will be judged through points (1/10 system). The points will be added up and the contestants with the least amount will be eliminated. The judges are looking for creative manips, masks, coloring, but most importantly - story. Story will be a key element in this RP, as your character’s choices will have an impact in the events in the following round. We desire intriguing characters and backstories to go along with your skills as an editor. The judges will judge every round through the point system, but each round you will get a comment from a different judge about her own personal likings and criticisms of your video (EX: I will comment on all of the auditions, but WolfSpirit79 might comment on all of the R1 video entries). Each judge critiques a video on her own personal tastes and what she herself likes to focus on. One judge might be more critical with story, but another could be more critical with masks and editing.
