SOUNDBITE (Hebrew) Segev Kalfon, released hostage: "I first saw this clock in the photos that came to us in Gaza. A clock that counted the time of the hostages not only in days, but also in minutes and seconds. That's exactly how we felt, as if every minute was an eternity and every second could be the last one we breathe. That's exactly how the families felt too. All 255 hostages, for whom every second is an eternity." 10. Pan left of crowd, banner reading (Hebrew): "You are back here and now" 11. SOUNDBITE (Hebrew) Segev Kalfon, released hostage: "When I saw your pictures from the square standing there with our pictures, supporting our families and clearly calling until the last captive, you were our light and hope. You were our strength, and no less, you were the strength of our families, the small light at the end of the tunnel." 12. Pan right of crowd singing the Israeli national anthem STORYLINE: Thousands of people gathered in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square on Tuesday to turn off a clock tracking the duration of the hostages’ captivity. Some cheered as the clock stopped at 843 days, 12 hours, 5 minutes and 59 seconds. Shira Gvili, the sister of hostage Ran Gvili - the last to be returned - told the crowd that “we can really stop this clock for a moment and move forward.” "As they promised, the Hostages headquarters, until the last hostage, included. I can't believe I'm here and saying this, but it worked. We made it happen. We did it, we brought Rani back home," Shiri Gvili said. Israel brought home the remains of Gvili in Gaza on Monday, closing a painful chapter for the country and clearing the way for the next and more challenging phase of its ceasefire with Hamas. The 24-year-old police officer known affectionately as “Rani,” was killed while fighting Hamas militants. Before Gvili’s remains were recovered, 20 living hostages and the remains of 27 others had been returned to Israel since the ceasefire, most recently in early December.
