Te Araroa Day 31 | Greenstone Hut Mavora Lakes Section FAILED!

Welcome to my Day 31 backpacking the South Island of New Zealand along the Te Araroa Trail. Today, Nikki (‪@gnarlyadventures‬ ) and I attempt to move forward to Taipo Hut on the Te Araroa Trail. I say attempt, because we waited for 3 and a half hours for the water to drop at the first creek crossing which lays about a 60 minute walk from Greenstone Hut. As we waited we made plenty of hot cups of soup and tea and ate till our hearts content in the pouring rain however, the water kept rising.
