Marianne was an Australian working hard in London, not seeing the light of day and without a doubt fully participating in the rat race. In 2013 she published a book titled ‘Be A Free Range Human: Escape the 9-5, Create a life you love and still pay the bills’. Unbeknown to her at the time, but this book would go on to become an international best seller, having since been translated into multiple languages, and propel Marianne into the spotlight alongside the likes of other pioneering career change experts such as Tim Ferriss, Author of ‘The 4 Hour Work Week’. Marianne Cantwell is an expert on creating a free range career and a successful work-life that fits who you really are (and the life you want) - no "one size fits all" formulas in sight. In 2017 Marianne stepped onto the TED stage to deliver a TedX talk titled ‘The Hidden power of Not (Always) Fitting In’, which to date has been watched nearly 400k times, inspiring thousands to enrol in her courses which focus on finding your 'thing' (and making it work for you). Her thinking has featured everywhere from Business Week and CBS MoneyWatch, to The Guardian and Entrepreneur magazine. A corporate escapee herself, she now lives and works between several countries (often found between London and sunny California), and carries her business in an unexpectedly tiny laptop. In today’s conversation you’ll hear Marianne talk about why there is a home for every personality and strength – it’s just a question of finding that home or creating it to fit you.
