Welcome to your Somatic Yoga: A Journey to Self-Compassion program. 💚 I’ve written several blog posts on somatic yoga that you might find interesting. You can learn about what somatic yoga is, the benefits, and explore somatic exercises here: https://www.yogawithrachelmarie.com/blog 💚 The theme for day 1 is nurture. If it feels good, take a moment to consider what the word ‘nurture’ means to you. What words, images, colors, feelings, or emotions come to your mind when you hear this word. I invite you to take a moment before or after your practice to note what nurture means to you. As you move through today’s practice, the invitation is to consider ways that you can nurture yourself. Nurture might look like: Checking in with how you’re feeling. Tuning into your body’s sensations, and responding to the sensations with respect and compassion. Connecting with your breath. Adjusting your range of motion. Using a prop to offer nourishment and support as you move through your practice. Pausing the video to take a sip of water. Exploring postures that feel nourishing in your body, even if they differ from what I’m showing on screen. Adjusting the pace at which you move through each movement, or as you transition between poses. Saying kind words to yourself. Meeting yourself exactly where you are. Approaching the sensations you observe with non-judgmental curiosity. Extending gratitude for carving out time for this nourishing practice. Somatic practices remind us that we are worthy of self-care practices that nurture our mind, body, heart, and spirit. I hope that you enjoy this gentle, nourishing practice. You’re welcome to revisit this practice whenever it feels good. Sending you love, light, and gratitude 🩷 ******************* 🧘♀️ Don’t Miss New Yoga Classes 🧘♀️ 🌈 Subscribe to Yoga with Rachel, and welcome to our family! 😊 https://tinyurl.com/YogawithRachelSub... ******************** 💌Subscribe to my biweekly letter: https://www.yogawithrachelmarie.com/ 💻Website: https://www.yogawithrachelmarie.com ******************** ✅ JOIN my Restorative Yoga program on Udemy! https://www.udemy.com/course/restorat... ✅ JOIN my Fascia course on Udemy! https://www.udemy.com/course/stretch-... 🍵 Buy me a delicious cup of green tea: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/yogawith... ✅ JOIN the Membership: / @yogawithrachel ******************** Somatic Yoga Classes: • Somatic Yoga and Somatic Exercises ******************** Say 👋 on Social Media: ✨Instagram: / rachelmarieyoga ✨Facebook: / yogawithrachelmarie Music: The Rising, by Aakash Gandhi Namaste 🙏 ~ Rachel 💜 ******************** #somaticyoga #7dayyogachallenge #yogachallenge #somaticyogawithrachel ******************** Disclaimer: Rachel Van Huis from Yoga with Rachel, highly recommends that you consult with your physician prior to participating in this exercise program.
