In this inspiring film, we follow the journey of tenant farmers, Chrissy and Jake Hancock, who are running a successful educational business as part of the farm and have a passion to welcome more people to the farm. Thanks to the support of the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme, led by the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) team, this passion is becoming reality. This film was commissioned and co-ordinated by the Dorset AONB team and filmed and edited by Ben Ingram. With thanks to Chrissy Hancock for kindly taking the time to share their story. More information about the FiPL programme: The Dorset AONB delivers the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme that provides funding to farmers and land managers (and others working with them), for projects that support nature recovery, mitigate the impacts of climate change, provide opportunities for people to engage with the landscape and cultural heritage, or support nature-friendly, sustainable farm businesses. Protected Landscapes – our National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – are special and unique places. They are living, working landscapes that also support a huge range of habitats and species, and they are enjoyed by millions of people every year. By supporting the farmers, land managers and people who live and work in these areas, we can help protect these exceptional places and support local communities. To help do this, Defra introduced the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme, which runs from July 2021 to March 2025. Further information can be found at: www.dorset-nl.org.uk
