Daytrip in Puno: Visiting the "UROS" people who live on floating totora-reed islands

We arrived in Puno early morning and decided to spend a full day here and one of the most popular day trip is the tour of the UROS people who live on manmade totora islands. This was our first stop of the day. Your transfer bus will pick you up at the hotel and drop you by the plaza del faro and it's a short walk from there to board your boat. the boat ride is about 45 minutes and they will drop you with a family and the host will explain a little bit of the history and you really get to spend sometime with the family and see how they build these islands and the houses. You can pay 10$ for a ride on their reed boat.
