Taken from Jesse's long deleted Soundcloud, this song was uploaded without any promotion to the service sometime in 2013. Sadly, I don't have much to say about the song on an objective level, there just isn't really anything that'll allow me to do so. No posting that I know of, no direct date. All I know is that it was already uploaded by October 7, 2013. If you ever visited any thread or post asking about each person's favorite Jesse song, you'll likely have seen me name this one every single time. This is my favorite song by Jesse, which... I'm sure I've said that about like 50 different songs from him. But... this one really is it. The last time I got to talk to Jesse (sadly, fame means I can't really get the chance to much now), I got to tell Jesse this was my favorite song by him. He seemed a little surprised, maybe because in the scheme of his career, this song was entirely irrelevant and obscure. How many people even listened to this on Soundcloud back in the day? Did Jesse ever play it live locally when he'd make a rare solo gig appearance in Arkansas? I don't know. But, this song will now forever live on the archive, and I hope it finds the audience that it never had the chance to before. Who knows, maybe someone here will hear it, and also discover their new favorite Jesse Welles song. Lyrics: Today the time doesn't matter The Earth can spin, and I don't care I want my mind to go numb And I will grow out all my hair I want to go to Indiana I'm going to lay down in the fields Oh, take off all my clothes and lay down And finally get it real And for me the days are gone And for me the days are gone They're somewhere there not here I remember wooden floors, and pulling back your golden hair Overflow the ashtrays, unlock the doors, and let's get out of here Yeah there were colors, and people, they fade in and out of my mind I reckon it's a sin to stay in, I want to stay out all the time And I don't ever want to die And for me the days are gone And for me the days are gone And for me the days are gone And for me the days are gone They're somewhere, and not here
