Ever wondered what actual motoring history feels like to drive? Today we’re jumping back nearly a century and taking a spin in Westy’s family’s 1933 Chevrolet Master Phaeton Tourer, a car that’s been with them for 88 years and spent 50 of those parked up in a shed, waiting for its moment. It’s a real life time capsule. Vacuum wipers, hand-crank start, white-metal bearings, running boards you could stack 11 kids on (apparently that was “fine” back in the day) and somehow it still cruises down the road like it’s got somewhere important to be. Westy and his old man Joe gave this thing a mechanical birthday back in 2010, brought it back to life, and now it gets used properly, coffee runs, road trips, and plenty of smiles-per-kilometre. It’s not about big turbos or huge horsepower today, it’s about good mates, good stories, and appreciating the bits of motoring history that are still out there doing their thing.
