This extended Agnus Dei (Hwayana yaMwari) for SATB choir in F major unfolds across five distinct movements, with the first four repeated. It is an infusion of Western classical and Shona traditional music, reflecting the spiritual and cultural landscape of post-independence Zimbabwe. The five movements trace a narrative of invocation, mercy, triumph, lament, and supplication for peace, mirroring the nation's journey from liberation through grief and healing to the longing for lasting peace and harmony. 00:00 Movement I 00:42 Movement II 02:00 Movement III 03:04 Movement IV 04:53 Movement V Movement Descriptions: I.
