The Christmas lullaby "Sweet was the song" by Bob Chilcott (*1956), sung by twelve-year-old Freddie Simpson, finalist of BBC Young Chorister of the Year 2023. Freddie is a choirboy at St Thomas-on-The Bourne church in Farnham. The final of this enormously prestigious competition - run by BBC Songs of Praise and BBC Radio 2 - was held in the magnificent Manchester Monastery and broadcast on BBC TV on Sunday 3 December.
