Growing RARE PLANTS from seed - Brassaiopsis

Starting to grow your own garden can be addictive. Venturing out to find beautiful plants in your local garden centre and bringing them home is a quick and easy way to provide instant impact. This is how I started the Grow Paradise garden, and it was great fun and started my gardening journey. However, after some time I wanted to have a try at propagating some new plants from seed. To avoid disappointment I started with something easy, Sunflowers and Salvias. After growing lots of these new plants from seed I wanted to try more and more unusual plants including Cannas, Abutilons, tropical Solanums and so much more! One of the more challenging plants I’ve grown from seed is Bananas, as they are slow to germinate. After a year or two of growing lots of plants from seed I was ready for my next challenge…Brassaiopsis! I couldn’t believe my luck when a good friend shared a bag of ripe Brassaiopsis berries with me, each hopefully containing viable seeds. After weeks of procrastination through fear of sowing these rarely available Brassaiopsis seed I eventually plucked up the courage to start.
