#57 Virtua Fighter 4 PS2 \\ Shun Di starts VF4 Kumite! VF1 model unlocked!

(Still working out my microphone settings--I had it set a little too quiet in this video.) Jumping into Kumite mode in Virtua Fighter 4 on PS2 with the drunken kung fu master Shun Di! I was a little worried he might be complicated to use, what with his drinking bottle mechanic and all (all I know so far is you press all three buttons at once to make him take a swig, and the more drinks he takes, the more advanced moves he can do), and maybe he is a little, but he's also a lot of fun! (In fact, sneak peak ahead with him in 5 has shown me that he's more of a character in 4--in 5, they don't let him get drunk or play with his bottle in the win/lose poses--he just has to sit there more or less soberly and mime raising a bottle. What the hey!) And I got pretty far with him in the first session, too! Unlocked a bunch of keen stuff and yes of course that VF1 model: 0:00 - start 1:43 - checking his initial costumes 7:25 - into Kumite! 25:14 - checking unlocked items and colors 34:11 - back into Kumite! 1:31:50 - promoted to 1st dan! that unlocks the VF1 model! 1:36:34 - checking unlocked items (hats!) and colors 1:42:51 - checking the VF1 model (hold Punch + Kick immediately after picking the character file from the character select screen) I'm starting to wonder if maybe all items are unlocked simply by beating an NPC wearing that item--I've noticed that's how I've gotten the most recent items I've received in Kumite, for instance these hats and Lion's motorcycle helmet--and maybe I just don't notice it for other things because hats stand out much more to me on the NPCs?
