Dr Tim Huxley, Executive Director IISS-Asia and Corresponding Director of Defence and Military Analysis, spoke at the IISS-Middle East office in Bahrain, about domestic political developments in Southeast Asia and their security implicationsin the 10th IISS Global Perspective Series Lecture. The complex and diverse sub-region is in the midst of important domestic political changes that may have significant implications for security and stability, he said. He discussed the contemporary political and social scenes in key Southeast Asian states including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, and the implications of developments for security and stability at both the national and regional levels.
