this is day 3 of our hike through Yellowstone National Park from Heart Lake, to the Thorofare Ranger Station, and out to Nine Mile Trailhead. We left campsite 7G2, and took off cross country to locate the trail, rather than backtrack to the trail, we hiked along the South end of the South arm of Yellowstone lake, locating a stone marker representing the southern most point of Yellowstone Lake. we then turned onto the two oceans cutoff trail, and joined the two oceans plateau trail to campsite 6M5. this was ahot and dry day, with several stretches of trail without water. the campsite was wild, with bear claw scratches on the bear pole trees, and a sense of being in the middle of nowhere. the campsite was one of my favorite on the trip, with a cold stream nearby, and endless views. we totaled 9.25 miles Please give a thumbs up, and subscribe.
