0:00 Part 1 The beginning of the visit with Jeff. She is declining, I know. Just breaks my heart. But her smiles. I love it when she smiles. More to come. Thanks again for everyone’s kinds words of encouragement and prayers! I need them, she needs them. This stinks. #dementia #marygoround ###mylittlemomma #memorycare #memorycareunit #raisingcanes #alzheimers #memorygoround #damnentia 7:34 Part 2 After Canes it was Nail Care time and a new CAT! Thank you Christine for the cats you sent us! I was finally able to bring one to mom. Enjoy her crazy reactions! LOL #dementia #marygoround #mylittlemomma #memorycare #memorycareunit #alzheimers #memorygoround #damnentia #CapCut 17:30 Part 3 Every visit really is all about trying to give her an experience. The food, the snacks, lemonade, the toys. I just want her to get a positive, pleasant experience. Thats really all I have left to give. The other is to assess her, her health, her safety, her progression. Visits lately are largely different each time. I never know what I’m going to get or see. More than a progression of the illness (though that is what it is) It feels like more an up and down kinda of thing. Good days, bad days, up days, down days. We will have a really bad day followed by a really good day. A day filled with laughter and a day with no laughter at all. What a terrible disease. #dementia #marygoround #mylittlemomma #memorycare #memorycareunit #alzheimers #memorygoround #damnentia 24:25 Part 4 (Ending our visit with Jeff.) Many have mentioned mom needing a walker (or wheelchair.). I have some concerns. Mainly I don’t think she’ll remember she has it and will get up in the morning and move right past it and/or leave it in others rooms, etc. I also don’t know how you implement a new way of walking with someone who literally forgets what a chocolate mint is the few minutes in between each mint I give her. Or forgets how to eat her Canes. How do you get them to remember something as big as needing a walker? Advise please! Help me visual how the transition works. #dementia #marygoround #mylittlemomma #memorycare #memorycareunit #alzheimers #memorygoround #damnentia Archive: June 2024
