December 2024 was a whirlwind of flip-flopping, conflicting developments and confusion abounds for businesses about what their reporting responsibilities are, if any, under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) in 2025. On December 23, 2024, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the prior nationwide injunction of the CTA with a new filing deadline. Then, just days later, the Fifth Circuit Court merits panel reversed the motion panel’s stay and reinstated the injunction. Confused on what to do yet? Many are.
