Grigsby's Hornpipe

This fiddle tune is called 'Grigsby's Hornpipe' and it's a unique old piece from the legendary Eck Robertson, an old-time fiddler born in the Ozarks who moved to the Texas Panhandle and went on to become one of the earliest and most well-known fiddlers to ever record. It was this very tune that almost single-handedly got me into playing old-time fiddle music. I first heard it played in person by Bruce Molsky, a contemporary genius of the old-time fiddle who's made a kind of sound all his own. This video was recorded near my childhood home on the Edge of Appalachia Nature Preserve in Adams County, Ohio.
