In this webinar, Dr. Isaacs will explore the key updates in the 2025 ADA Standards of Care, focusing on medications, monitoring, and technology in diabetes management. We will also review the latest guidelines for managing diabetes in pregnancy, with an emphasis on target glucose ranges using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and the importance of individualized treatment plans. Participants will learn how to design treatment strategies for diabetes patients with comorbid conditions to address acute and chronic complications. Dr. Isaacs earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs. Dr. Isaacs holds board certifications in pharmacotherapy, ambulatory care, and advanced diabetes management and is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Dr. Isaacs served on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Professional Practice Committee from 2020-2023, the committee that updates the ADA Standards of Care. She also served on the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES) Board of Directors from 2021-2024. She is currently on the leadership of the Diabetes Practice Group for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and is a planning member of their Annual Meeting and Chair of their Diabetes Technology Certificate. She co-hosts a popular podcast titled “Diabetes Dialogue: Technology, Therapeutics and Real-World Perspectives.” She advocates access and choice to the latest technologies and therapeutics for all people with diabetes and speaks on diabetes related topics nationally and internationally. She was the ADCES Diabetes Care and Education Specialist of the Year in 2020 and inducted into the SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame in 2022 for her far reaching contributions in diabetes care.
