Whether you're thinking ahead for natural disasters, power outages, or even wartime communication failures, an emergency radio can be an essential tool for staying informed when everything else goes dark. I test the build quality, features, reception, battery options, and overall reliability to see if this low-cost model is actually worth adding to your emergency kit. Spoiler: it performs better than expected! Links mentioned in video: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10050... NON-AFFILIATE If link is broken, look for "emergency radio" there are many vendors but they all come from the same factory. Prices vary depending on sales: Seen between 7 and 15 euro. *https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AM_broa... Wiki page on AM or amplitude modulation broadcasts. Specs: AM - 520 ~ 1620KHz FM - 87 ~ 108MHz Radio to be charged trough: Handcrank Solar (70 hours of light, about 12 days) used primarily to top up battery. USB C (cant be charged from e.g. phone to powerbank, as i believe its missing some identifying resistors for that). Radio can output: USB A - 5V, 1A, Blue light will turn on to indicate powerbank mode is turned on. USB C (Not usable as an output) Features: AM/FM radio 0.25W Solar panel (to top up battery) 0.2W LED flashlight 5W loudspeaker ( its really loud i use it at 30%) Tests: Radio lasted me 2 full days at 30% and i turned it off when it was too soft to listen to. So it technically wasn't drained 100%. Led lamp worked for more then two days, from calculations it could run for almost 3 full days in a perfect environment. 5 minutes of handcrank converted to 20-30minutes of radio at 30%. 5 minutes of handcrank converted to over an hour of LED light. *crank was turned at ~ 120RPM. Included: Radio, Bubble wrap, Manual, Box, lanyard, protective foil on surfaces. 👍 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share if you found this helpful!
