Today I am finally going to do something I have been talking about for a while, daunting though it may be....I'm taking an angle grinder to my Nissan Leaf motor to cut off the inverter mounts to give me more options for fitting it in our Porsche 911. So join me as we go past the point of no return....just me, an angle grinder, 8 cut off discs and a few hours to kill....what's the worst that could happen? This was the scariest task I have undertaken on this project so far, and I may have gotten a bit carried away with the cutting, but if I can't fit this motor where I want it after this, it will never fit in that area. Sorry about the wind noise, the weather her has been shocking recently. Music used in this video: Rev - Eveningland ► • Rev - Eveningland | Royalty Free Musi... An extra disclaimer on this video, more so than any one I have done before, this is not meant as a how to and I would not recommend doing this to your Nissan Leaf motor.... If you do find you have to, please do your own investigations and planning on which bits you will cut and how you will tackle this. Doing this to your motor may make it unusable and will definitely void any warranty you may have on it. We do builds and projects with electric motors and on electric vehicles, with a focus on electric car conversions. The automotive world is moving towards electric cars at a great pace, but a lot of these are focussed on the mass market or are very expensive performance vehicles. We want to see what can be done to create our own performance electric cars using the currently available components. We'll take you through every step of our projects (both successes and failures.) Please come and join us on this journey. A note on this channel. While we try to make these videos as informative as possible, these are not instructions or how to videos. Working with high voltage electrical components is very dangerous and can injure, maim or kill. The same goes for working on cars and motorbikes. If these videos have inspired you to take on an EV project of your own, and we hope they have, we would encourage you to undertake the necessary study, education, training and/or investigations to familiarize yourself with tasks you are undertaking. Thanks for watching and we hope you have enjoyed the video.
