Verse 1 We chose before we understood The reach of every silent deed Our hands were young, though full of fire Untrained to know what seeds would lead Verse 2 This world received us as we were And found the fractures in our frame It touched the hidden faults of strength And turned our virtue into strain Chorus We bore the weight of what we did Without the sight to know the cost Faith carried more than certainty And love endured what knowledge lost Verse 3 Some knew the truths of distant realms The source from which all life had come Yet even light could not reveal The end before the path was run Verse 4 We held the memory of higher ways Of ordered minds and clearer sight Yet walking here, in flesh and time That clarity dissolved in night Chorus We bore the weight of what we taught As meaning thinned in mortal speech Eternal things were clothed in signs For hearts not yet prepared to reach Verse 5 We guarded fires we could not keep As blood and lineage intertwined The wisdom lived, but faded fast As light was shared with humankind Verse 6 What once was known became a song What once was clear became a name Truth folded into metaphor And myth preserved what time could not retain Bridge (very sparse, almost whispered) Not all could hear the voice beneath The symbol and the sacred tale Yet still the Spirit stayed within What human words would always fail Verse 7 Those closest to the works of earth Who shaped the tools, the cities, flame Were first to feel the planet’s pull And first to fall when trial came Verse 8 The world exposed what lay unhealed In strength, ambition, will, and fear And those who built the outer good Were tested hardest, nearest here Chorus This world reveals the unseen fault In even noble aims and plans And choice is made in partial light By finite minds and fragile hands Final Verse Still through the loss, the blur, the doubt One truth remained when all grew dim The Father held the unseen end Beyond our grasp, yet faithful, sure, and near Final Chorus (slow, lifted) We walked by faith, not knowing how Our acts would echo through the whole Yet heaven keeps what time obscures And mercy gathers every soul
