Here is a throwback to 2013 & 2014. First on the 12th May 2013 we see NIR 111 Class Loco 112 arriving into Adelaide Depot after hauling 450 Class DEMUs 454 & 459 from Belfast Central Parcel Sidings for scrapping. Gatwicks 941 & 942 are also seen in the formation being used for extra brake force. Next on the 19th May we see a photo of 112 + 941 & 942 departing Adelaide after transferring 453 & 457 from Bangor. Sister units 451 + 452 were scrapped at York Road & 455 + 456 were scrapped in Ballymena. The only surviving 450 Class unit 458 is preserved at the Downpatrick & County Down Railway. Next on the 16th June , 3rd & 17th August 2014 201 Class Locos 206 & 208 are seen arriving into Adelaide with Ex Irish Rail Mk3 Scrap Movements from Dundalk via Belfast Central. These Mk3 coaches had been in storage at North Wall Freight Yard in Dublin since being withdrawn from service in 2009. Not all Irish Rail Mk3s got sent north for scrapping some of the coaches ended up being cut up in North Wall , Inchicore Works , Dundalk & Waterford. A hand full a Mk3s are still around today. 10 With Belmond which are now currently in storage in Scotland awaiting refurbishment and return to use it is not known at present when and where the coaches will see use again. These coaches were formally used on the Grand Hibernian train which ran across the IE & NIR network until belmond ceased this operation in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 3 Coaches including the last surviving Mk3 DVT (6105) are at the West Clare Railway supposedly for preservation but sadly nothing has happened with the coaches so far and they are now in a poor condition and have been vandalised. It's currently unknown what will end up happening to them. 4 Generator Vans are now in use with the De Dietrich sets on the Enterprise Executive coach 7161 is now preserved and is on display at a Greenway in Limerick. Next we see Gatwicks 943 + 944 , 450 Class DEMU 455 & 80 Class Power Car 89 in storage in Ballymena P Way Yard on the 14th July 2014. 89 Was scrapped in 2017 Today only a handful of 80 class vehicles survive. 90 + 752 & 69 + 749 Are in preservation at Downpatrick. Power car 99 is now at the East Lancs Railway in England. 455 Was scrapped in 2017 943 + 944 Along with 941 + 942 got scrapped in 2023 after being used as parts donors for preserved Mk2 vehicles.
