In this video, I restored an old sausage stuffer made around 1935, by ELMA, a Spanish brand known for its durable kitchen tools. This model is exceptionally large — weighing almost 27 kilograms and designed to process up to 4 kilograms of meat at a time. This restoration was particularly challenging. The machine was no longer functional — the piston was completely seized, several teeth on the rack were broken, and multiple threads and fittings were damaged or missing, including the original stuffing tube. Most of the soldered joints on the meat outlet tube had lost their seal, so the system could no longer hold pressure. On top of that, every metal surface was deeply rusted, making it unsafe for food contact. Because of its complexity, this restoration took over eight weeks to complete. To make it easier to follow, the video is divided into clear chapters — featuring techniques such as sandblasting, powder coating, filing, sanding, nickel plating, welding, crafting new parts, and many more. Restoration Process 1. Introduction & Condition Overview – presentation of the ELMA sausage stuffer, defects and missing parts 2. Complete Disassembly – removing all components for cleaning and inspection 3. Main Body Restoration – lead paint test, paint removal, sandblasting, bushing crafting, powder coating 4. Rack, Gears & Handle Restoration – rack repair, welding broken teeth, shaft crafting, nickel plating, handle restoration 5. Piston, Shafts & Meat Tube Restoration – piston head nickel plating, shaft rebuilding, tube cleaning and coating for food safety 6. Crafting the Missing Stuffing Tube & Oak Base – machining a new stuffing tube and restoring the wooden base 7. Assembly & Final Test – reassembly and full functional testing 🎧 No voice-over, pure restoration ASMR 🔩 Real mechanical sound & satisfying transformations 📜 A 90-year-old piece of Spanish craftsmanship, brought back to life If you enjoy satisfying before-and-after transformations, ASMR metal restoration, and vintage machinery rebuilds, this video is for you.
