Race Start: 7.00 mins A fabulous hit-out at Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney would be a gross understatement. This day had it all, including some unbelievable race conditions with a mild freshwater swim, an over-cast but dry bike, and the sun coming out for some absolute running scenes. With the Blue Mountains in the background, I was able to pull out my best performance yet, going sub 4.30 over the 70.3 distance. My smugness, though, soon turned to disbelief and pride in some of the performances from my mates and counterparts out on the course! I've done my best in the video to share my own experience of the race and building up to it, whilst also adding context to the efforts of other athletes. Some highlights on-course for me were: Katie Remond the standout performer and female winner on the day TriMob's Nat Heath opening the day with a beautiful Acknowledgment of Country before playing the Yidaki His and Rhys Corbishley's red-hot performances on the bike Leon Sharp, Brett Hallam and Luke Jones running some blistering splits First-timers getting up such as Steph Coles and Ollie Watson George Bartlett beating his Sister Catching up with BottleIt's Beau Jones on the other side And of course, the support from my Uncle and beautiful Girlfriend - I'm useless without the two of them!
