Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2019 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. With the F-150 being such a versatile truck, you're going to want a hitch that meets those demands. Well, since this one is a Class III, it's going to have some pretty good weight capacities that'll work real well for towing, and since it's going to have that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, it's going to work really good for many different types of accessories, and it's going to give us some really good clearance. The end of the receiver tube is going to sit just about flush with the edge of our bumper, so that's going to work really well for those folding accessories. And since it does sit just about flush, it's going to be really easy to get our hands in and out of here whenever we're hooking up our ball mount. One thing I really like is that for the most part, the hitch is going to be completely hidden. Really the only thing you're going to see is the receiver tube opening, that's going to help maintain that clean factory look. The hitch is also going to have a reinforced collar for extra strength. It's also going to have these standard 5/8 size pin hole. Now keep in mind, a pin and clip does not come included, but if you need one, you can find it here at etrailer.com. It's going to have loop-style safety chain openings, which are going to be big enough and give us enough room to use just about any size hook that we might have. It's also going to have a smaller hole in front of the pin hole and that's going to last to use a J-pin. That J-pin is a stabilization device that'll help eliminate any rattle or play here in the connection point. Now, as far as the hitch's weight capacities go, it's going to have a 900 pound maximum gross tongue weight rating. That's going to be the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch, so that's going to be more than enough for any accessory that you'd want to use. As far as the maximum gross trailer weight rating goes, it's going to be 6,000 pounds. That's going to be the amount of weight pulling on the hitch, so that's the weight of your trailer plus anything that you might have on it. This can be used with a weight distribution system, which is a separate component, but if you are using that, the weight capacities do increase. The maximum gross tongue weight rating goes up to 1,000 pounds and the maximum gross trailer weight rating goes up to 10,000 pounds. Now, I do like to point out it's never a bad idea to check with your truck's owner's manual to make sure you can pull that much weight. Now if you do plan on doing a little bit of towing, I would recommend picking up some trailer wiring. However, I do want to mention what I've personally found is a lot of these from the factory do come with four-pole flat trailer connectors. So if that's what you're using, you're probably going to be good there. However, if your trailer has a seven-way connector, you're going to need a seven-way plug, and you can find multiple different types here at etrailer.com. Overall, compared to some of the other hitches available, in my opinion, this is going to be that good happy medium as far as looks go, usability, and weight capacity. But at the end of the day, it's going to be really versatile and help you get the job done. Now I'm going to give you a couple of measurements, and you're going to use these to help figure out which hitch-mounted accessories to get. From the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening, it's going to be about 20". You're going to use that to figure out if you need to get a ball mount with either a drop or a rise. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of our rear bumper, it's going to be about 3", and you're going to use that to help figure out if any folding accessories you might have can be stored in the upright position without contacting the bumper. Now, as far as the installation goes, it's pretty straightforward and isn't really too bad. There's a couple of little tricks I'll show you along the way to make it a little bit easier, speaking of which, let's go ahead and put it on together now.To begin our installation, we're first going to start by temporarily removing our spare tire. That way it'll give us a lot more room to work. Now we can move underneath the truck and start
