Supine Throwing A constraint drill everyone could benefit from (laying on your back) All you need is a baseball (you could use different balls but for the sake of specificity and the skill of throwing a baseball I would recommend a baseball). -Working against gravity which will promote force production and muscle activation but will help with deceleration. (Lower stress) -Feel the weight of the baseball against your fingers going into release which mimics at a smaller scale the acceleration of throwing at higher speeds -Visual feedback of spin components for a longer time window, dont need a throwing partner here! -Able to get more repetitions in a shorter time window (skill acquisition) -Can do this before or after throwing program or pitch design session, can do this before bed for faster skill learning -Allows focus on one aspect of throwing the ball (the end of the kinetic chain, the whip tip) #playerdevelopment #pitching #throwing #baseball #motorskills #CLA #constraints
