I turn a cheap RC car into a cablecam with a classic GoPro mount for the Insta360 ONE R camera and test it out with mountain biking and longboard skateboarding in the woods near our studio. My friend Mick wanted a cablecam for his insta360 ONE R camera so he could film eg. mountainbiking and we decided to start with an RC car and take it from there. The development turned into a lot of prototyping and experimentation, but in the end we got it working and shot some really cool footage! The robot itself is build around the communication from the RC car as well as one of the wheels combined with an Arduino Nano, an L298N double H-bridge, a 3S Tattu LiPo battery of 650 mAh and a BMS. The motor is a DC motor stripped from an old HP printer. All parts are designed and 3D printed on my Prusa i3 mk3 3D printer using PLA and PETG. I might very well install a DC step-up converter to increase the power of the robot at some point but that will be in Micks video if I end up doing that. I will link Mick's video here when it comes online.
