Jan Taranczuk CIHCM, AIFSM shares his insights on the steps that he thinks landlords should be taking to assess and manage the fire risk associated with e-bikes and other personal mobility devices. Jan is Vice-chair of the National Social Housing Fire Strategy Group (London and Southeast), and from his 50 years of unique experience he outlines the responsibilities that we have collectively to deal with this ticking time-bomb that has already claimed the lives of 13 UK residents and injured nearly 200, with incidents now occurring almost daily. This threat could be lurking within many of our buildings, with both landlords and residents blissfully unaware, due to the chronic lack of awareness that still exists, so Jan will discuss some of the ways that we as a sector can raise awareness quickly and start to identify, assess, prioritise and mitigate these risks.
