Van Life Heat-Busting Mission: Fridge Hack, MEGA DIY Awning & More Ways We Keep Cool!

Summer van life is fun but can be hot, this week we upgrade our existing fridge and add more upgrades to keep our vans living space cooler in the Summer heat. We already had a few things in the van designed to keep it cooler, so share that too. But the first major thing we wanted to tackle was our 12V fridge. Lots of people upgrade to a compressor fridge in vans and motorhomes - we already have one. Our Vitrifrigo 115i is similar to the Dometic fridges and others, and we found it can wildly fluctuate in temperature when it is hot outside or if the fridge is full. So we set about making two modifications to the fridge and share the results at the end. We had two Calframo Scirocco 2 fans in the van, love them but decided to upgrade our cab fan with something slightly different. We have also wanted an awning for a very long time, like for ages. But the rollout ones are very expensive and for reasons mentioned in this video a bit high maintenance for us. So we opt for a DIY install that we hope will give us a massive outdoor living space.
