Whether you're recovering from something like a car accident, perhaps an old hockey injury, or simply suffering from discomfort from long-term wear and tear, Dr. Dana Schomberg of West End Chiropractic has a few great drills to help regain strength and stability in your neck region! First Exercise: Take one hand and bring it up to the same side of your head, right around the lateral forehead area. Apply pressure, and push your head into your hand, while also applying counter pressure with your hand. Release the pressure, and repeat for a total of 20 times. Then do the same for the other side of your head. Second Exercise: Take both hands and bring them in front of your forehead. Apply pressure from the forehead into the hands. Release and repeat for a total of 20 times. Then do the same with the hands behind the back of your head. Third Exercise: Take your hands, and apply 10% maximal strength pressure to your forehead. Slowly bring your chin down to your chest. Come back up to an upright posture, with neck straight -- all while keeping the muscles of the neck engaged. Repeat the exercise for a total of 20 times.
