Unsurprisingly, 40 years of sitting in a lock up caused this horn to fail when I bench tested it. The manufacturer's label states "Clear Hooters Ltd - England". I believe this company was based in Hampton Street - Birmingham since the 1920's and employed 250 people. They supplied horns and other electrical equipment to many car manufacturers. That is a nice bit of British Car Industry history and I felt it was important to preserve the originality for the Austin 1300. I enjoyed the restoration process and managed to video the entire process. I dumped imovie and used Adobe Premiere Pro for the first time having fun with the editing...it's mostly sped up video with audio, it's hopefully more enjoyable to watch than my previous slideshows. It's all a bit of a learning curve and a bit of fun with experimentation, so please do let me know what you think in the comments. I recommend headphones for the full effect and turn up the volume as much as you dare.. Contains royalty free music from Youtube : 1. Lost & Found - Dan Lebowitz, 2. Beyond - Patrick Patrikios, 3. Half Pipe - Huma Huma Also, I used a few copyright free images which are all in the public domain - attribution is not required. Note: This is not intended to be a tutorial, I'm an amateur DIY'er on a tight budget showing my work in progress of an oily rag restoration of the Austin. Body will come later. Bear in mind that my methods are not necessarily the best.. Please remember to subscribe to my channel for new video updates! Thank you.
