Black women continue experience discrimination in US workplaces due to their dual intersectionality of race and gender. This discrimination manifests in the workplace as bullying, career sabotage, harassment, micromanagement and microaggression. Reporting this behavior can often result in in blackballed and retaliation. The toll on African American women’s confidence and overall well-being is overwhelming. And no amount of playing the “Strong Black Women” helps to lessen the pain caused by workplace trauma. While many Black women, continue to work in toxic workplaces and suffer “in silence.” To escape the daily trauma inflicted upon them while working in toxic workplaces, others find themselves as unwilling participants in the Great Resignation. However, healing from the injuries caused by working in a toxic work environment requires time. The healing journey can be challenging but it is necessary. So, those healing from workplace trauma do not take their old wounds into their new lives. In this video, I discuss 9 ways that Black women can heal after leaving a toxic workplace while re-building their confidence by understanding their G.R.E.A.T.N.E.S.S.
