L&M Winter Recital 2025 - Jake Simon Jacob

Blue Space (Original composition) & Prelude C Major by J. S. Bach Performed by Jake Simon Jacob, student of Tad Winklarz. Jake is just 9 years old and has been playing piano for only about three years - yet he's already showing wonderful talent and a big love for music! He was featured twice in the recital. First, he played Blue Space, a beautiful original piece that he composed all by himself. It has dreamy melodies and wide-open sounds that take us on a fun musical adventure - perfect for a creative young mind like Jake's. Then, he performed the famous Prelude in C Major by J.S. Bach. The calm and flowing music that Charles Gounod later used for his Ave Maria. It's amazing to see Jake play this classic piece with such care, steady hands, and feeling, especially at his age! I hope you enjoy these two lovely performances by this bright young musician. I sympathise with my students who must perform on an unfamiliar instrument. For some, the difference between practising on an electronic keyboard at home and playing on an older grand piano during the performance can be a significant adjustment.
