This video shows how we rectified a long-standing issue with the DTML (Fuel Tank Leak Detection) Pump on an e92 335xi. The wiring is short from factory, does not have enough slack, and is directly exposed to elements via the driver rear wheel. The wiring is not protected by the fender liner and is highly susceptible to fluid migration from road water that can damage the connector. For these various reasons, this is a somewhat common failure on these vehicles. Previous repairs included replacing the DTML pump and other diagnostics that did not remedy the issue. This was the proper repair for ALL of the collective codes and did re-enable the DTML pump. Prior to this repair the vehicle had a check engine light and was not passing state emissions.
